Research interests

My research interest lies at the interface of biomedicine, biotechnology, biomaterials, and nanomedicine. A major research focus is on biomedical applications toward disease diagnostics and therapy as listed below.
(1) Nanomedicine for anticancer and anti-inflammation therapy
(2) Nanovaccines for cancer and infectious diseases
(3) Cancer stem cells

Major Research Achievements

o Development of glycocalyx-mimicking nanoparticles for cell and organ-selective drug delivery
o Development of bilirubin-based nanomedicine for anticancer and anti-inflammation therapy
o Antigen-displyaing self-assembled protein nanoparticles for use as a prophylatic vaccine against viruses and a therapeutic vaccine against cancer
o Small lipid nanoparticles as an antigen-delivering nanoparticles for cancer nanovaccines
o A novel class of high-affinity peptides (Aptides) for biomedical applications
