Research interests

Machine(deep) learning for 3D computer vision: 3D hand/human pose estimation, 6D object pose estimation, face recognition by image sets and videos, active robot vision, activity recognition, object detection/tracking, novel man-machine interface

Major Research Achievements

Co-organiser of series of HANDS and 6D object pose workshops and associated challenges at CVPR/ICCV/ECCV, since 2015. FPHA, BOP, BigHand2.2M benchmarks.
Best service robotics paper award (ICRA 2014).
Best paper award by ASCE Journal of Computing in civial engineering 2016.
Best paper finalist (CVPR 2020) on Weakly-supervised Domain Adaptation for 3D Hand Pose Estimation under Hand-Object Interaction via GAN and 3D Mesh Model. His co-authored algorithm for face image retrieval is MPEG-7 ISO/IEC standard.
